Totes are designed to hold and carry a variety of art supplies. Some are open bags to simply contain painting equipment. Others have compartments for pencils, brushes, and paint tubes or paper and books. They may have a special bottom compartment to hold a wet, covered palette level so it doesn’t drip. Some totes are storage bin style; others are “tackle box” style bins with all kinds of trays and small compartments. Totes may be carried with handles, lugged with a shoulder strap, or even pulled on wheels like a suitcase.
